 Welcome!
Welcome to the 2024-2025 edition of the Ultimate Free Music Tech Resources Guide.
It’s hard for me to believe, but 2024 marks the 15th year that I’ve been helping music teachers (just like you!) with all things tech-related through my business Midnight Music and the Midnight Music Membership Community.

Back in 2009—when I started out with Midnight Music—I shared a collection of useful free tech resources in a conference presentation titled “Music Technology On A Shoestring”. That session was incredibly popular and repeated many times over the years so I gathered all the free resources into a single PDF guide. This year marks the 12th year of the guide.

The free resources in this guide have been carefully curated and tested. Each year we check all the links, update information, add new tools and remove those that have disappeared or are no longer free. There is something in the guide to suit ALL music teachers, from music composition software and recording apps, to productivity resources and teaching materials and everything in between!

It truly brings me joy to share useful tech resources with music teachers so please enjoy this new-look edition of the The Ultimate Free Music Tech Resources Guide!
